Dallas Police Officer Arrested For DWI Had Marijuana In System
On our DWI blog, we recently posted about a police officer who was arrested for DWI. After her arrest, and during an inventory search of her car, the police found "one burn plate with residue, two clear glass pipes with unknown burnt residue, two burned filters with residue, unused filters and scissors with residue." The officers believe that this was methamphetamine. While she was in the backseat of the car, she began screaming.
Later, as part of her employment with the
Dallas Police Department, she was asked to submit to a drug test. The test revealed
marijuana in her system.
There has been no indication as to whether she was charged with, at a minimum, possession of drug paraphernalia (a Class C Misdemeanor). Being charged with a drug offense can have tremendous consequences on your life. Outside of facing serious prions time, a drug offense can stay on your record for the rest of your life.
