Drug Crimes On Cruise Ships On The Rise
It appears that drug crimes on our favorite cruise ships have taken a dramatic rise over the past year. According to an AOL travel article, it has increased 52%. It appears that the drug crimes are more than recreational, but drug smugglers are using cruise ships to smuggle their drugs.
As drug enforcement agencies have focused on reducing the amount of drugs that go through the normal routes on yachts, fishing boats, cargo vessels, and aircraft, the drug gangs are now using cruise ships as an alternative. Regardless, if you are busted and charged with
possession with intent to distribute on dry land or during that trip of a lifetime to the Caribbean you can be facing stiff penalties and a lengthy federal stint.
