Head Of Mesquite Police Narcotics Unit Arrested For Theft
Mesquite Police Sergeant John David McAllister faces one charge of theft of government money. During an undercover courier operation, McAllister stole $2,000. In December, FBI agents received a tip that McAllister was stealing money during the execution of search warrants at suspected drug locations.
The FBI conducted an undercover operation using $100,000 in 52 bundles. During a search by McAllister of the undercover FBI agents, he discovered a duffel bag containing the $100,000. He then took one of the bundles out of the bag and stashed in his pants. He later went to buy a $500 watch at The Buckle before he was arrested.
